Basics

1. What is your full name? Do you have a nickname? Marcus Alexander Whitman the first; mail-order knight, kind and benevolent ruler, ex-pat Brit, and last of the red hot swamis. Also "Happy Knight" and "Sir Dopey".

2. How old are you? When is your birthday? 20 years old. July 15th, 1989.

3. Where were you born? Where do you live now? Are you patriotic? Born in Manchester, England. I currently live in New York City. I still consider England to be my home country and am very patriotic. However, I am also very fond of my borrowed homeland in America and would defend it accordingly.

4. Who are/were your parents? (Names, occupations, personalities, etc.) My father was Dane Whiman, the third Black Knight. He died two years ago. He was a strong, charming, intelligent person and I someday hope to be half the man he was.

5. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I am an only child.

6. What is your occupation? I am a reserve member of the Avengers team, as well as owning a small, family museum back home.

7. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? 6'0", 170 lbs.

8. What color is your hair? What color are your eyes? Black hair, brown eyes.

9. What is your race? Slightly enhanced Anglo Caucasian.

10. To which social class do you belong? I'm a knight of the realm.

11. Do you consider yourself to be attractive? Do others? I am cute as a button. Sammy seems to think I'm relatively pleasing to look at.

12. What is your style of dress? Jeans, t-shirts, and boots for the most part. I do own suits that I will wear on proper occasions.

13. Do you have any scars? Tattoos? Birthmarks? Other unique physical features? No, I'm sadly very boring in that respect.

14. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? None that I'm aware of.

15. Are you right- or left-handed? Right handed.

16. What does your voice sound like? Well, you know Sir Sean Connery? I don't sound anything like him.

17. What kind of vocabulary do you use? English. Occasionally Pig Latin.

18. List three quirks or other defining characteristics.
I am almost always happy, even right out of bed. (Gets me in trouble)
I love to jog early in the morning. (Also gets me in trouble)
I have a soft spot for terrible, Victorian romance novels.

19. How often do you bathe? Do you wear perfumes? I shower at least once a day; more depending on what I've been doing. Cologne on special occasions. As an occupational hazard, I occasionally smell of horse.

20. What kind of facial expression do you commonly wear (dour glare, wry smile, etc)? Almost always smiling. Seems to annoy the locals, it does.

21. Do you use body language? How? I think I probably talk too much for body language to ever get a word in, edge-wise.

22. Do you have a commonly used saying? "No, really, Jay. You are my squire."

Childhood

23. What is your earliest memory? My father showing me the exhibits in our museum. That was where I decided to be a knight.

24. How much schooling have you had? Did you enjoy it? I've finished through high school. I liked it well enough. I was good at it. I'm thinking now, perhaps I'll look into college somewhere.

25. Where did you learn most of your knowledge and skill? From my father.

26. How would you describe your childhood in general? Delightful. I had only one small sadness, before my father died. Otherwise, I was well loved, well cared for, and wanted for nothing.

27. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? My father. The Black Knight, specifically.

28. When and with whom was your first kiss? Heather Seaton in third grade. She punched me in the stomach a moment later, even though it had been her idea. I learned three things from the event. One: Underestimate thee not the temper of a redhead. Two: The lady is always right, even when you have no idea what you did wrong. Three: It is almost always worth the risk.

29. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? No. As a gentleman, I refuse to elaborate.

30. Do you have a notorious or celebrated ancestor? Does that affect you? Sir Percy of Scandia, who sat with King Arthur Pendragon at his Round Table. Also, my father. Both encourage me to be a better, more noble man.

Influences

31. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? Sadly, it was probably my father's death. That turning point found me with both a legacy to uphold and the freedom to chase my American dream.

32. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Being accepted into the Avengers.

33. What is your greatest regret? My father will never meet Sammy.

34. What is the most embarrassing or shameful thing ever to happen to you? How to choose? There are so many! I think, perhaps, being snogged by big, green Jay would rank high among the memories.

35. Do you have any secrets? If so, what are they? Not as such. There is information I choose not to disseminate foolishly.

36. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? I put itching powder in Jay's unstable molecule shorts. I short sheeted Bruce's bed. I've tormented Jeremiah Bennett just for the unholy pleasure of it.

37. When was the time you were the most frightened? The day I discovered my father was dying.

38. Have you ever traveled outside of your country? If so, to where? Only between England and America.

Beliefs

39. What is your alignment? I follow the Knight's code of honor.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Optimistic. To a fault, I've been told.

41. Do you believe in a god? If so, which one and why? I'm not sure. I believe in magic. I don't know if it's the same thing.

42. Do you believe in an afterlife? Yes.

43. What is your greatest fear? Becoming one of the bad guys.

44. What makes you angry? Sad? Happy? Why? Injustice makes me angry. The pain of others makes me sad. Spending time with Sammy makes me happy.

45. Do you think people are basically good or basically evil? Quite firmly good, I would hope.

46. What are your views on politics? Religion? Sex? As long as no one is being harmed, I don't have opinions one way or another. Those are for each person to decide for themselves.

47. What are your views on gambling, lying, theft, and killing? Gambling for fun is fine, until it becomes an addiction. Lying and theft are dishonorable. Killing is to be avoided until there is absolutely no other choice left.

48. How far will you go to defend your beliefs? I defend people, not beliefs.

49. How much do you value money? It's not something I spend a great deal of time thinking about.

50. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Kill another person for sport.

51. Do you believe in self-sacrifice for the greater good? Yes, but not sacrifice for the sake of sacrifice. It should be necessary. Not a vain stab at glory.

52. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? The romantic in me would like to think so. I'm not sure the rational part believes.

53. Are you superstitious? Not really, no.

54. How much do you respect the beliefs and opinions of others? Until they cause harm to someone else.

55. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings? Too much, I've been told.

56. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Not that I'm aware of.

Dealing With Others

57. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Sammy. She puts up with me.

58. Who is the person you respect the most? Despise the most? Why? I most respect my father. He was everything I hope to be. I can't think, off hand, of anyone I despise. I'm not overly fond of Kang.

59. Do you have a significant other? Who? Yes. Miss Sammy "Don't Call Me Samantha" Fury.

60. Do you have a lot of friends? Who is your best friend? I have a good few. My best friends, apart from Sammy, would be my fellow Stooges Bruce and Jay.

61. How do you relate to members of the same race? Class? Sex? The same as I do to everyone else.

62. How do you relate to members of a different race? Class? Sex? See previous answer?

63. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. I do believe I am now. I am sincerely hoping for that proverbial Happy Ending.

64. What do you look for in a potential lover? Strength, a sense of humor, honor, courage.

65. How close are you to your family? My friends are my family. I'm fairly close.

66. Do you want a marriage, family, and/or children? Yes, I think so. I wouldn't care to hazard a guess as to when, but someday.

67. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I don't enjoy arguing, but neither to I avoid it if necessary. I suppose I fall somewhere in the middle.

68. Are you a listener or a talker? Oh, most assuredly a talker. Ask anyone.

69. How long does it usually take for you to trust others? Not very. I'm told this is a dangerous flaw.

70. Do you hold grudges? None yet.

71. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? When I'm needed to. I am just as happy to be in the background, though.

72. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Oh, yes. I am a people person.

73. How well do you express yourself? I think I do fairly well. No dramatic failure in communications yet.

74. How quickly do you judge others? Sometimes fairly quickly. Although, I'm also willing to give second chances.

75. Do you care what others think of you? Not overly much. I'd like to be liked, but there will be no wailing or rending of clothing over the matter.

76. Do you have any enemies? How or why are they your enemy? Not in my opinion, but I suspect Young Master Bennett believes otherwise.

Personal Taste and Opinions

77. What is your favorite pastime? Color? Food? Possession? I most enjoy flying with Aether. Dark green or dark blue are my favorite colors. I suppose my armor would be my favorite possession.

78. What are your preferences in arts and/or entertainment? I have mentioned my love of terrible romance novels, yes? I also enjoy physical, outdoor activities like rock climbing.

79. Do you smoke, drink, go whoring, or use drugs? Why or why not? No, definitely not. I have had a drink on occasion, but that is the limit.

80. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? It depends on what manner of free time Sammy has.

81. What is your most cherished fantasy? Being the hero. Saving the world.

82. How long is your attention span? I can be quite tenacious when I need to be.

83. Do you laugh a lot? What do you find funny? Almost all the time. It doesn't take a great deal to make me laugh.

84. Is there anything that shocks or offends you? If so, what? Man's ability to be cruel to each other.

85. How do you deal with stress? Jogging, sparring, flying, a visit to the shooting range with Sammy.

86. How much athletic ability do you have? Artistic? I am quite athletic. No real artistic talent to speak of.

87. Do you like animals? Do you like children? Yes, to both. I am quite fond of animals and children.

88. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? I can plan, but I prefer surprises.

89. What are your pet peeves? Lack of respect for teammates.

Self-Image

90. What is your greatest strength as a person? Weakness? Courage, I suppose. Too trusting.

91. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I'd like to have a clearer concept of my direction in life.

92. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Extroverted. There is no doubt about it.

93. Do you like yourself? I'm a delightful chap.

94. Do you have a daily routine? How do you feel if your day is interrupted? I have a very flexible routine.

95. What goal do you most want to accomplish in the next six months? Your lifetime? I only wish I knew. All I can hope for is that whatever I do, I do it with honor.

96. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Didn't we just cover this? I haven't the foggiest. Ask me again in 5 years and perhaps I'll have a better answer for you.

97. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I'm still 15 deep in my heart, so I have to say "In glorious battle for the good of the world".

98. What is the one thing you would like to be remembered for after your death? Doing the right thing. And causing Jay to scratch himself inappropriately in public.

99. What three words would you use to best describe your personality? Jovial, friendly, and helpful.

100. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Obnoxious, overly-cheerful, and noisy.

101. Why are you risking your life to adventure? Because, those who can, should.
