Character Name: Marcus Whitman. The Black Knight
Character LJ: 4th_blackknight
Physical description: 6'0", 170 lbs, 18 years old.
PB: Steven Strait
Abilities: Marcus is a trained unarmed combatant, superb swordsman, and expert horseman as his father was. When he touches his mystic pendant and invokes the name of Avalon, he conjures up his equipment and steed. The armor and weapons are extremely lightweight but supernaturally durable. His Shield of Night not only protects him from most attacks but also absorbs the energy of the forces directed against it. He can then release that stored energy in the form of power blasts from his blade, the Sword of Light. Thanks to his mother's heritage, he also ages at a much slower pace than an average human and his strength/endurance levels are notably higher.
His genetically altered horse, Aether, can fly at great speeds. He is also considerably more intelligent than the average horse.
Also in possession of the Ebony Blade, but reluctant to use it due to the blood curse on it.
Weaknesses and flaws: He is hell-bent on upholding the noble name of the Black Knight. Even so far as to rush headlong into any crisis, alone or no, just to prove his bravery and mettle. More often than not, his horse has the better sense of the two.
Character location/Home: Avenger
Alignment: Hero! Anything else is grounds for ritual suicide.
Relatives: Dane Whitman (father, deceased). Sersi (mother, unknown).
Backstory: Marcus is the only son of Dane Whitman, the third Black Knight. His father had lived for a time in the body of his 12th century ancestor Sir Eobar Garrington, battling Apocalypse with his lover Sersi. Upon their return to their proper time, the two became separated and Dane found himself alone with their infant son, Marcus. Attempts to locate her failed and after a time, Dane gave up the search to settle in England and raise Marcus up himself. Marcus grew up strong and proud of his lineage, enjoying his father's stories of the first Black Knights and dreaming of his own adventures to come.
He has a background of study in various scientific fields like genetics, physics, and mechanical engineering at the behest of his father. It is likely he would have attended college to study in one or all of those fields if his father had not passed away when Marcus was eighteen.
After the death of his father, Marcus settled the Whitman estate in England before flying to the United States in search of his father's old teammates.
